Commitment to achieving Net Zero
Uvisan Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2035.
Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline Year: 2022
Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations.
This baseline represents our first calculation of the carbon footprint of the business
Baseline year emissions:
EMISSIONS TOTAL (tCO2e)
Scope 1 0.0 The business’s employees are all
Scope 2 0.0
home-based. All manufacturing,
transportation and distribution is
outsourced. There are, therefore, no
Scope 1 or Scope 2 emissions.
Scope 3 8.1
4.Upstream transportation
& distribution
2.4 Excluding WTT emissions, but including
emissions from warehousing
5. Waste generated in
operations
0.009
6. Business travel 3.6 Excluding WTT emissions
Included Sources
7. Employee commuting 0.0 The workforce is fully remote
Employee teleworking 1.2 As an optional inclusion in category 7,
we have included emissions from
homeworking due to the remote nature
of the business.
9. Downstream
transportation &
distribution
1.0 Excluding WTT emissions
Total Emissions 8.1Emissions reduction targets
In addition to seeking to achieve net zero by 2035, we have set a target to reduce emissions by an
average of 4.2% per year on an intensity basis (relative to turnover) up to 2030. Due to the planned
transitions in the business, including onshoring of some of our manufacture, we recognise that our
emissions will fluctuate somewhat in the years ahead, but we will aim to achieve an average of at
least 4.2% per year relative to the 2022 baseline above.
Carbon Reduction Projects
Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives
The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed since the
incorporation of the company in September 2021.
• The business achieved Green Small Business Certification in March 2023, having
developed an environmental policy and comprehensive action plan addressing all of the
significant environmental impacts of the business.
• New product designs have been developed. These designs have incorporated a number of
aspects which will significantly reduce the environmental footprint of the products (included
their embodied carbon), including fewer components, a more modular design (reducing
transportation volume and improving repairability), less processing, reduced weight,
improved operational efficiency and compliance with Low Voltage Directive.
• Business travel has been kept low through extensive use of video-conferencing and the
utilisation of sector events/exhibitions for liaison with our re-sellers.
Our environmental action plan commits us to the implementation of further measures which will
significantly reduce the carbon intensity of the business, such as:
• Onshoring of some or all of the manufacturing of our products (currently carried out in
China).
• Introduction of more localised distribution of the products in Australia, USA and the EU to
further reduce transportation.
• Stacking of products during transportation, made possible by the modular ‘flat-pack’ design
of our new product design.
• Redesign of packaging to reduce embodied carbon in the packaging and reduce weight.
• Facilitation of product repair to extend product life.
• Further refinements in product design to reduce their environmental footprint.
